Lexicon:
Ambiguous and debatable terms regarding family life and
ethical questions.
Human
Life International is very pleased to make the Pontifical
Council for the Family's Lexicon available in English. This
international sensation is a compendium of articles by experts
exposing terms used in the media and international forums
to conceal the true objectives of the culture of death.
Phrases like "Safe Motherhood", "Reproductive
Health", or "Homophobia" are an insidious
attack on traditional family values, and the Lexicon was
requested by Cardinal Alfonso López Trujillo as a
powerful antidote to this cultural poison.
Church
leaders from around the world have praised it warmly;
"This Long awaited English translation of the Lexicon
will be an invaluable resource to all those who genuinely
seek to understand the profound truth, goodness and beauty
of marriage and family. It is a gift to the faithful and
to the broader community from the Church." Cardinal
George Pell.
On
the other hand, Frances Kissling, president of the anti-“Catholics
for a Free Choice” group, said the lexicon gives
"new and disturbing meaning to what has become a
Vatican crusade against reason and science in the modern
world." She continued, "This document is a throwback
to the days when church leaders disregarded scientific
advances and ignored the human suffering caused by abstract
and absolute application of so-called principles and values
in the face of human tragedy and need." She is joined
in her forceful disapproval by the Free Masonic Grand
Lodge of France and many Homosexual organizations.
Clearly
the Lexicon, which has appeared in French, Spanish, Italian
and is forthcoming in Portuguese and Arabic, has stirred
a great deal of controversy due to its unapologetically
Catholic content. Cardinal William Keeler praised it saying;
“It is inspiring because it lifts up ideals rooted
in faith, illuminating the truth about the human person.”
The Lexicon is a resource of great use to Catholics and
pro-lifers everywhere.
Founded
in 1981, Human Life International is the world’s
largest pro-life, pro-family organization that is dedicated
to defending life, faith and the family, with branches
and affiliates around the world.
