The Second Glorious Mystery: The Ascension

Reading
“Jesus said to them, ‘All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.’” (Matthew 28: 18-20)

“Jesus stood in their midst then he led them out as far as Bethany, raised his hands and as he blessed them he parted from them and was taken up to heaven.” (Luke 24: 36, 50-51)

Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ, you ascended into heaven to show us the way to the Father and to give us the hope of unending life on high. We ask you to give that same hope to those who are caught in the snare of the culture of death and who despair of finding the way to heaven. Grant them an abundance of graces to reject the kingdom of darkness and enter the kingdom of light.
