The Fourth Sorrowful Mystery: The Carrying of the Cross

Reading
“They took Jesus, and carrying the cross himself he went out to Golgotha.” (John 19: 16-17)

“A large crowd of people followed Jesus, including many women who mourned and lamented him. Jesus turned to them and said: ‘Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep instead for yourselves and for your children.’” (Luke 23: 27-28)

Prayer
Lord Jesus, you know that there are many abortionists who lay great crosses on the backs of women and will not lift a finger to help them when the procedure is finished. Grant these minister of the culture of death a profound conversion of heart so that they may become the true advocates of the dignity of women and repudiate the works of death by taking up their cross every day in imitation of you.
