Though soft-spoken, Father Rafael Wanjohi delivers a powerful life-saving message that speaks volumes to the Kenyan people. Since 1999, HLI’s country director has built a supportive pro-life community to help spread the Gospel of Life throughout Kenya through networks of attorneys, doctors, seminarians and students.
“No doubt Kenyans are heavily influenced by the social agendas of the West and NGOs [non-governmental organizations],” Father Wanjohi said. “We have steadily found ways to evangelize the truth against the destruction of contraceptives at conferences, seminaries and college campuses. Over the years we have seen the fruits of our efforts, specifically in cultivating future leaders across all professions to defend life.”
Father Wanjohi’s efforts to build a Culture of Life continue to build momentum in Kenya. Seeing this successful surge, Human Life International sponsored a support campaign to help Father Wanjohi during the first quarter of this year. The generosity of HLI’s supporters surprised the humble priest. Further, on a recent visit to HLI headquarters in Front Royal, Virginia, he was overwhelmed by the encouragement he received through supportive letters sent by supporters.
“I am really humbled by this good response,” Fr. Wanjohi warmly said in response to this generous outpouring. “I did not expect it. But, through the grace of God and through your assistance, you — our donors — I just want to pray. And I will ask our pro-life seminarians, pro-life priests, and pro-life university students and pro-life professionals to remember you in our prayers. Thank you and may God bless you.”

Please pray for Fr. Wanjohi and for his lifesaving work. Through this apostle of life’s growing network of pro-life professionals and collaborators, a Culture of Life in Kenya can persevere and thrive.
