“Faith and reason are like two wings on which the human spirit rises to the contemplation of truth; and God has placed in the human heart a desire to know the truth—in a word, to know himself—so that, by knowing and loving God, men and women may also come to the fullness of truth about themselves.” – Pope Saint John Paul II, FIDES ET RATIO
With faith and reason, it is possible to preserve traditional marriage in America. But, it will take all pro-life faithful putting faith and reason into action if we are going to reverse the accelerating assault on marriage and religious freedom.
This is why we ask you to join us and thousands of other defenders of truth, taking action about marriage in Washington, D.C. on April 25th for the third annual March for Marriage.
Why is this year’s event crucial? Distorting the understanding of marriage as anything other than one man and one woman, united for life and open to life, distorts our very understanding of God and his law, which is written in the hearts of all people. Rejecting God’s law will have devastating effects on the culture; indeed, it already has.
Why now? The U.S. Supreme Court will soon determine whether states may constitutionally preserve the legal definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman. Like the Supreme Court’s tragic Roe v. Wade decision, the upcoming decisions will either preserve a Culture of Life through marriage and the family — or further condone a Culture of Death.
Human Life International encourages one and all to participate in this precarious moment in our country’s history, taking the opportunity to defend the great gifts of traditional marriage, family, and religious liberty.
Join us and march on April 25. Stand up for traditional marriage. Stand up for families. Stand up for a Culture of Life.
For as Saint John Paul also said, “As the family goes, so goes the nation and so goes the whole world in which we live.”
