July 1, 2015 — Johannes Bucher recognizes the providential link between this year’s 7th International Prayer Congress for Life and the Synod of the Family, both held this coming October.
“With contemptible assaults increasing against life and family,” said Mr. Bucher, “the need for prayer and dialogue about the Church’s true teachings have never been clearer, especially for the protection of life from conception to natural death, God’s plan for sacramental marriage, and sanctification of our families.”
Bucher is the regional director of Europe for Human Life International, an organization coordinating the 7th International Prayer Congress for Life with Helpers of God’s Precious Infants (USA), Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (U. K.), and World Apostolate of Fatima.
When the 7th International Prayer Congress for Life convenes October 2-7, 2015, the faithful will assemble with the intention of praying against every evil of the world and making reparations for associated assaults, Bucher added.
The event will occur in Fatima, Portugal, where historic events and Marian prophecies took place almost a hundred years ago. Our Lady of Fatima, whose apparitions between May 13 and October 13, 1917 prophesied global atrocities and pleaded for prayer and penance, will hear the prayers of the faithful and will award great courage and strength throughout the congress, added Bucher.
“We look to Our Blessed Mother Mary, who always brings us to Jesus. Through her intercession, we are brought even closer to God’s graces and mercies, so desperately needed where the human race has embraced a Culture of Death!” said Bucher. “She understands the full benefits of fruitful prayer and encourages the faithful to trust and pray even more so for the difficult times that lie ahead.”
The congress’ prominent speakers will explore the theme of John 10:40, “That They Might Have Life.” Other topics will include the 20th anniversary of Evangelium Vitae, Saint John Paul II’s encyclical upholding the inviolable nature of all human life.
