Statement from HLI on the Death of Larry Jenkins

The entire Human Life International family today remembers Mr. Larry Jenkins — a friend, supporter, and past board member of our pro-life apostolate. We mourn with his family and loved ones, sharing their gratitude for his life — one lived with great courage and generosity, with great faith and hope.

“I had the joy and privilege of meeting Larry and Kitty not long after joining HLI’s family. The many stories I heard about their dedication to faith, life and family, and their personal graciousness, generosity, and wisdom, were immediately apparent,” said Father Shenan J. Boquet, president of HLI. “Larry and Kitty’s joy was contagious, and I enjoyed each successive visit. Not long after learning of Larry’s illness, we had the opportunity to visit. I was touched by his courage and example of trust in the Lord. Larry and Kitty made me, as they did everyone, feel at ease, and I am grateful for the friendship and the personal support they have given me. Their commitment to life and family continues to bless HLI through their daughter, Dr. Lisa Cahill, and her generous service on our board of directors.”

Mr. Jenkins passed away on January 19, 2017. He served as a board member for HLI from 2000 to 2008.

HLI Board chairman emeritus, Patricia Pitkus Bainbridge, fondly remembered her friend and colleague: “As an HLI board member, Larry brought his faith and pro-life zeal, coupled with his vast business acumen, to all deliberations. He was a true gentleman who always spoke lovingly about his wife, Kitty, and their children. On a personal level, I will always remember the lively discussions we had around the dinner table on the evenings before board meetings.”

“I will offer Holy Mass for Larry and the intentions of his family, and all of our staff and leadership will be close with the Jenkins family in this difficult time,” added Fr. Boquet. “May Larry rest in peace, in the presence of our merciful and almighty Father in Heaven.”
