PAV “Second to None” Defending Life

On Thursday, October 26th, Human Life International (HLI) President, Father Shenan J. Boquet, met with His Excellency, Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, President for the Pontifical Academy for Life (PAV).  Also present at the meeting from HLI were Father Francesco Giordano, Director of HLI’s Rome office, and Dr. Joseph Meaney, HLI’s Director of International Outreach and Expansion.

HLI welcomed the chance to meet with His Excellency, shortly after the annual meeting of the PAV October 5th-7th in Rome. Father Boquet commented: “We were very happy to hear Archbishop Paglia reaffirm the PAV’s determination to be second to none in defense of Life from conception to natural death. Archbishop Paglia also affirmed the need to spread this message among secular institutions and organizations at the highest levels.”

“Each of us is…willed and loved by God….”  ~ Pope Francis

As the Holy Father stated during the recent annual PAV meeting, “Genesis makes clear that each of us is a creature who is willed and loved by God for our self. We are not just well-organized collections of cells passing through a process of evolution. As well, the whole of creation is included in God’s special love for mankind that reaches all generations of mothers, fathers, and their children.” Pope Francis appointed Archbishop Paglia to the post of President in August, 2016.  The Holy Father also appointed 45 new members to the Academy this year. HLI is most grateful to the Pontifical Academy for all its generous support and aid in the fight for the Culture of Life across the globe.
