HLI Joins Growing Pro-Life March in Chicago

Human Life International (HLI) was proud to support the Chicago March for Life this year, the nation’s largest pro-life event in the Midwest. An estimated 9,000 participated in this year’s March, according to its Board President Dawn Fitzpatrick. This year’s theme: “Life Empowers!”

This year’s March on January 11th featured speakers such as Cardinal Blase Cupich and the best known pro-life Democrat, Congressman Dan Lipinski (Illinois). Not only that, this year marked the March’s first exhibition hall event timed to coincide with the event. “We were delighted to participate beside the other exhibitors,” said Deborah Piroch, PR Director for Human Life International. “When we were invited to come, we jumped on board immediately. Though we naturally regret that we have had 47 years of legalized abortion, it was an honor to unite with these wonderful people in witnessing to the sanctity of human life.”  Executive Vice President John Martin of Human Life International represented HLI and spent time making HLI’s many teaching materials available, brochures to recordings, and explaining HLI’s outreach to the world.

For those who missed the March for Life, we invite you to check out the The Illinois Family Institute’s video featuring a recording of the live March stage events. Also, next year’s March dates have already been set. If you’ll be in the Windy City, consider adding your prayerful witness to the crowd on January 16, 2021. As HLI President Fr. Shenan Boquet has affirmed many times, as long as a single unborn baby is at risk of abortion, HLI will continue to march. Those who cannot participate, your prayers are warmly welcomed from afar.

This year alone HLI has participated in 96 marches for life around the world. Washington, D.C’s March later this week makes 97.
