How Does D&E Abortion Work?

Dilation and evacuation is a 2nd trimester abortion procedure. The baby’s limbs and head are torn apart by a Sopher clamp and removed in pieces from the uterus.

At this stage of development, the baby can feel pain. She is also capable of living outside the womb with proper care.
