Honorine didn’t know what to do. Or where to turn.

The Rwandan student and her boyfriend Eric had sinned. And now Honorine was pregnant outside of marriage.

Eric couldn’t afford to raise a child. And Honorine’s family barely had enough for food and basic needs. Eric urged Honorine to have a secret, illegal abortion. But Honorine refused.

Honorine remembered what your missionaries had taught her: every life is precious. Despite her fear, she wanted to protect the little life growing inside her.

Honorine first met your missionaries at her school, where they shared the truth about abortion, chastity, and God’s plan for marriage with the students. That knowledge gave Honorine the courage to say no to abortion—but she still faced a pressing question: how could she support herself and her preborn child? 

Scared but hopeful, Honorine reached out to your missionaries. They listened with compassion and promised to help her—and they also reached out to Eric. 

Unlike Honorine, Eric had never learned that abortion ends a child’s life. To him, it seemed like the responsible decision. But your missionaries gently showed him the truth.

Thanks to you, Eric realized his child wasn’t a potential life. He was already a father. And his tiny preborn son was counting on him.

With guidance and prayer, Eric’s heart changed. He returned to Honorine, ready to embrace fatherhood.

When Eric returned to Honorine, the young couple didn’t just choose life. They chose marriage.

Thanks to your chastity education, the couple had learned the value of the Sacrament of Marriage. They wanted their child to grow up in a stable, loving home. And they hoped to share together in God’s beautiful plan for marriage.

Your missionaries guided them through marriage preparation, teaching about God’s plan for conjugal love and openness to life. Your missionaries even stood by Eric and Honorine’s side on their wedding day!

But challenges remained. Eric still had limited income. He and Honorine would still need help providing for their child.

Your generosity provided practical support—covering hospital fees, supplying baby clothes, and helping with basic needs. You also helped Eric find a job that could support his family.  

On Christmas Day 2025, Baby Noel was born—healthy, loved, and cherished by both parents.
